This airport is the main airport of the city and province of Bushehr, and in the years before the revolution, it was the hub for many flights to Iran and was considered one of the two main airports in the country during its time. Bushehr Airport was the first destination in Iran for British Airways and KLM. It is worth noting that the first plane to land at this airport was in 1924, a Junkers aircraft made in Germany. Following the formation of the Iranian Air Force, the first shipment of ordered military aircraft was assembled at Bushehr Port and then sent from this airport to other parts of Iran.
